Phelan Training Stable Day Camp 2011

The Phelan Training Stable summer camp program introduces campers of all abilities to the challenges and responsibilities of taking care of horses under the supervision of a qualified instructor and assistants. After initial evaluation, a suitable horse will be selected for each child. In order for your child to get the most from their riding camp experience, only four children will be enrolled in each session.

Our program provides a balance between mounted instruction and talks and demonstrations. Each child will receive a riding lesson every day of camp. Riding instruction will be geared toward each individuals needs. Children will also learn many aspects of horse care, including grooming, feeding, anatomy, and much more. We will make an equine inspired craft.

The overall priorities of the Phelan Training Stable riding program are safety, fun, and skill advancement.

Horses can help us accomplish many of our goals - self-confidence, leadership, respect, responsibility and compassion. Horses also provide excitement, freedom, adventure and friendship. Our camp offers a very engaging and effective experience for growth and learning.

*Please Note: We can also do camps by special request.

Time: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Cost: $250/session

*If your child does not meet the age requirements for camp, you may inquire about private lessons.

Requirements

Apparel - Jeans or riding pants (no shorts)
Paddock boots or a boot with a heel
Helmets are required. If your child does not have a riding helmet, one can be rented for $10.
Please apply sunscreen to your children before bringing them to camp.
Children need to bring a lunch and a bottle of water.
